Gender Selection – Frogs & Snails or Sugar & Spice?
Will gender selection be the new isle in the supermarket, geared towards people who need to have a baby of certain sex?
In today’s society, where we have a choice in everything major in our lives, from where we are going to give birth to our babies, to pre planning our own funeral. Is it right that we can determine the sex of a baby before it’s even conceived?
Apparently so… Gone are the days when a fourth little girl would cause disappointment to the father. Gone are the days of fingers crossed and hope for a boy.
It’s all out there for us if we care to look. Gender selection products and methods are easily available, so we can have a baby to fit into our preplanned lifestyles.
Baby sex selection methods can range from the ‘very expensive’ to ‘the very cheap’. Microsort & PGD weigh in at the top end of the scale, and have approximately 80% chance of giving you what you want. But could you imagine paying thousands of pounds for a bouncing baby boy, and being in the 20% that end up with a little girl.
That’s right, around twenty percent of people will spend lots of their hard earned money, and still not get what they wanted!
So onto those cheaper gender selection methods, and even a couple of free tips!
Whether you are purely desperate enough to try anything, or just trying it for the fun of the whole experience – with a little bit of “how great would it be if it really worked!” Here a few theories (based on the Shettles method) to think about.
Use Chinese Gender Chart For Gender Selection
Feng Shui, Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, and Tai Chi all come from the wisdoms of ancient Chinese. These techniques or knowledge were once considered as superstitious in the western world, but are now widely used in many civilized countries. The Chinese Gender Chart (aka Chinese Birth Calendar or Chinese Pregnancy Calendar) which is used to predict the gender of a baby, does not yet receive the respect from western eyes like other Chinese ancient wisdoms!
The amazing thing about the Chinese Gender Chart is that it can predict the gender of babies long before a mother’s conception and that its accuracy rate is higher than 90%. So, if a baby is conceived in June when the woman is 30, she will give birth to a girl. And if a baby is conceived in August when the woman is 22, she will give birth to a boy. The most unusual thing associated with the Chinese Gender Chart is that it is the women who determine the sex of the children; this differs from all medical books that tell you that it is the presence or absence of the Y chromosome from men that determine the sex of the children. Recent medical studies have found that it is the woman’s ovum membrane that chooses whether to fertilize with the X or Y sperm from men. So it is more appropriate to say that it is the female that chooses the sex of the baby (by virtue of selecting which sperm to mate with) and the male only determines the sex of the baby after conception. And this is exactly what the ancient Chinese pointed out.
There are many advantages to using the Chinese Gender Chart: It is 100% free, 100% natural, and it is absolutely safe. But a lot of people who have tested the Chinese Gender Chart conclude that the accuracy of the chart is no better than flipping a coin. What they don’t know is that, to use the Chart, one must follow several rules:
1. The Chinese Gender Chart is based on the lunar calendar.
2. A newborn baby is already one-year old.
3. You don’t choose the first and last ten days of a gender period for conception.
4. You don’t choose to conceive in Chinese leap months.
There is nothing wrong in preferring a baby boy after having two or three girls. You may also consider choosing a specific gender if your family has certain sex-related illnesses. Although there is still no scientific proof of why the chart works, choosing a specific sex by using the Chinese Gender Chart is still the best alternative to more expensive gender selection methods like MicroSort and PGD.

Blue for a Boy, Pink for a Girl – Gender Selection Made Easy!
If someone told you that getting pregnant is easy – Would you believe them?
If somebody told you that the process of gender selection was easy, what would you say?
Do you want to conceive a boy, or do you want to conceive a girl?
OK enough questions! If you are reading this article then it’s more than likely because the topic of gender selection has cropped up in your day to day life. I know plenty of people with all boys, or all girls. And I also know a good half of them would have more children if only they be guaranteed the sex of their choice.
There is of course medical ways of baby sex selection. Microsort is the most common method, similar to IVF only the sperm gets sorted first. Now wouldn’t you think that with all of the technical equipment that our consultants and medical staff have now days, that if you paid your money – You would get what you paid for?… Not necessarily!
It can’t be guaranteed, and that’s if you get pregnant at all. Everyone thinks of IVF and assumes that there will be a baby at the end. Not always true, The pregnancy rate for IVF is only around 35%! Now if you are one of those lucky 35 out of 100 women, the chances of you having the gender of your choice are along these lines – To conceive a girl, 90%. To conceive a boy, 80%.
So on the whole process we’re not really talking good odds.
To be fair there is a process out there, that still uses IVF, but very nearly 100% guarantees you the child of your choice. You will pay through your high teeth for this method. PGD (Pre implantation Genetic Diagnosis) determines the gender of the embryo before it is placed into your uterus. Onto The Easy Bit
